Connie Stewart was appointed to the Redwood Acres Board of
Directors in November 2012 by Governor Jerry Brown.
For the past 5 years, Stewart has been Executive Director at
the California Center for Rural Policy (CCRP), a research center committed to
informing policy, building community, and promoting the health and well-being
of rural people and environments. The
Center is located at Humboldt State University on the Redwood Coast of
The Center works on a variety of issues including food
systems and food security, health care access, cost and quality; broadband
deployment, adoption and policy; wealth creation and economic
development, and youth leadership and development. It has a staff of 20
Prior to joining CCRP, Connie spent six years working as a
Senior Field Representative for the California Assembly. She is a former
Mayor and member of the Arcata City Council.
